Helensburgh Landcare has been working removing invasive weeds in 3 main areas since September 1993.
Unfortunately, we are still battling environmental weeds. With Its often high rainfall, Helensburgh’s climate is conducive to vigorous growth of some of the more difficult weeds to permanently remove. These are weeds like arum lilies, ginger lilies, Madeira vine, cocos palms, Formosan lily, morning glory and moth vine. Some of these weeds have escaped from residents’ gardens where they are still growing.
Our three main worksites are Old Station/Glowworm Tunnel site, Wilsons Creek Waterfall and Helensburgh Creek.
We also do weed removal occasionally in a couple of other areas around Helensburgh.
